Elite Planter (18")

The 18-inch Elite Planter is the smallest in the Elite family. It keeps the signature taper, broad at the rim and narrow at the base, in a size that fits balconies, steps and tight corners. A 3-gallon nursery pot slips into the recessed pocket and hides below the top edge, so the finished look stays clean.

For many plants, yes. The 13-inch opening and 10.75-inch depth hold herbs, succulents, compact grasses, dwarf shrubs and colorful annuals. With a 16.75-inch footprint and a weight of 21 pounds, it's easy to move and fits where a larger planter won't, like a condo balcony, a narrow stoop or a table-side spot on the deck.

The recessed pocket is sized for a common 3-gallon grower's pot. Bring home a plant from the garden center, place it in, and you're finished. Later, lift it out and set in something different. Keeping plants in their own pots protects the roots and makes it easy to move a delicate plant inside when cold weather arrives.

Line a set of 18-inch Elites along porch steps, or flank a side door with two of them for a tidy, symmetrical look. One alone adds color next to a chair or at the corner of a small patio. Group it in front of the taller 22-inch and 26-inch Elites to build a tiered display.
