A fire pit sits lower to the ground, closer to the height of a traditional campfire, and is designed to be gathered around from patio chairs rather than dined at. If you want a surface, choose a fire table; if you want the classic low campfire feel, choose a fire pit.
The fire pits in this collection run on propane, connecting to a standard tank with no gas line or professional installation required. Propane lights instantly, adjusts with a dial, and produces no smoke or embers, which makes it a practical choice for decks and smaller patios where a wood fire would not be appropriate.
As a general rule, keep at least ten feet of clearance between a fire pit and any structure, fence, overhanging branch, or combustible surface, and never operate one under a covered porch, pergola, or gazebo unless the manufacturer explicitly permits it.
